Residents in Walthamstow were left stunned this morning after Territorial Support Group (TSG) officers from the Metropolitan Police carried out a forceful raid on a property in William Street.
Witnesses reported seeing three van loads of officers descend on the residential street early this morning before smashing through the front door of a house during what appeared to be a pre-planned operation.
Footage and images from the scene show a heavy police presence and officers securing the area following the raid.

The reason for the operation has not yet been confirmed. The Metropolitan Police have been contacted for a statement but have so far not provided any further details regarding the nature of the raid or whether any arrests were made.

One local resident said: “It was all very sudden — police vans pulled up and within moments officers were breaking through the door. It’s not something you see every day around here.”
Another added: “There were officers everywhere. It looked like a major operation but no one seems to know what it was about yet.”
The TSG is a specialist unit within the Met Police often used to assist with public order operations, high-risk warrants, and crime suppression activities.
More information is expected to be released once the Met Police provide an official statement.
This is a developing story and will be updated as further details emerge.
