Two Met Police Officers Dismissed for Homophobic, Racist and Sexualised Comments

Two serving Metropolitan Police officers have been dismissed without notice after a disciplinary panel found they made repeated racist, homophobic, misogynistic and sexualised remarks to colleagues while on duty.

PCs Ben Jeffries and Wayne Samson, both attached to the North West Command Unit, were found guilty of gross misconduct following a nine-day hearing that concluded today.

Offensive Comments and Acts While on Duty

The misconduct panel heard evidence that:

  • The officers made multiple offensive comments dating back to 2020.
  • PC Jeffries sent a colleague an unsolicited image of his genitals in August 2021.
  • PC Samson committed an offensive physical act toward a colleague in November 2021.

The hearing determined they had breached professional standards in the areas of:

  • Discreditable conduct
  • Authority, respect and courtesy
  • Equality and diversity

Met Leadership: “Disgusting and Inexcusable”

Detective Chief Superintendent Luke Williams, Borough Commander for the North West Command, said:

“The actions and comments made by both PC Jeffries and PC Samson were disgusting, wholly inappropriate and fell far below the standards expected of Met police officers. It is right they have been dismissed.

I would encourage our staff to continue to report any wrongdoing so that we can take action.”

Barred from Future Policing Roles

Both officers will be added to the College of Policing’s Barred List, meaning they are permanently banned from employment in:

This case is the latest in a growing number of disciplinary proceedings targeting misconduct within the Met, as the force continues its efforts to rebuild public trust and internal culture following multiple high-profile scandals.
