Merseyside Police Appeal: Help Solve Theft At Knowsley Distribution Site

Merseyside Police Detectives are appealing for information after a theft occurred at a distribution site in Knowsley on Thursday, October 19. The incident involved two unidentified individuals who entered the Venus 110 depot on Hornhouse Lane just after 22.00 and made off with a trailer containing a substantial amount of Castore sports clothing.

The stolen trailer was hitched to a white HGV and was last observed leaving the depot at approximately 6am the following day, Friday, October 20. The vehicle was seen heading towards Coopers Lane.

Investigators discovered the empty container on Penketh Place in Skelmersdale on Thursday, October 26, prompting them to seek the public’s assistance.

Detective Inspector Richard Shillito has issued an appeal for witnesses or individuals with any information regarding the theft to come forward. He urges anyone who noticed any suspicious activity on the days in question to contact the authorities immediately.

In particular, motorists who were in the vicinity during the time of the theft are asked to review their dash-cam footage for any evidence of the incident or a white HGV van in the area. The police are especially interested in any footage capturing the trailer’s abandonment in Skelmersdale on October 26. Every small detail could prove vital to the ongoing investigation.

DI Shillito emphasised, “We are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has information on the theft. Additionally, we urge the public to inform us if they become aware of large quantities of Castore sports clothing being offered for sale.”

Merseyside Police have provided several channels for individuals to share information. Witnesses or those with relevant details can contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook, citing reference number 23001033861. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be submitted to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
