A huge fire ripped through the abandoned england/scotland-england/”>scotland-england/”>scotland/”>scotland/Allandaleallandale/”>Allandale and Carlton House Hotel in Blackpool, Lancashire, sparking a major emergency response on Saturday afternoon.
Firefighters Battle Flames at Derelict Town Centre Building
Lancashire Fire & Rescue Service (LFRS) were called to Queen Street at 4:25pm on September 27, 2025, after reports of a blaze in the long-empty former hotel.
Crews deployed multiple fire engines, an aerial ladder platform, an air unit, and an incident command unit. Firefighters used two jets to douse the flames and remained on the scene well into the evening to keep the fire under control.
Police and Fire Service Launch Joint Probe
Detectives were spotted investigating the site the following day as Lancashire Police and LFRS launched a joint inquiry to uncover the cause of the fire.
Road Closures Lifted, Scene Secured
The former hotel, located near the corner of Adelaide Street, had been derelict for years. Roads around the building were shut off during the emergency but have now reopened.
A fence has been put up to secure the site, with police maintaining a presence as the investigation continues.
