Man tasered during arrest in Portsmouth

A man was tasered by police after allegedly attacking officers on a troubled Southsea street last night. Police were called to an incident on Elm Grove at 8pm last night, where they were forced to taser a male after he was said to have assaulted officers whilst resisting arrest. Elm Grove has been the subject of spate of burglaries and street violence in recent months, with both residents and local business owners begging police to increase their presence in the area. A 35-year-old man, of no fixed abode, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a constable in the execution of their duty. Anyone who may have seen the incident is asked to call police on 101, quoting 441 7025 5974.
