Christopher Pringle, a 43-year-old man, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for the rape of a woman in Edinburgh in August 2020. The conviction was handed down at the High Court in Edinburgh on Friday, May 12, 2023. on July 7, 2023, Pringle appeared once again at the High Court in Edinburgh, where he was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.

DCI Calder commended the courage exhibited by the victim in coming forward and hoped that her bravery would serve as a reassurance to all victims of sexual violence. He emphasised that it is never too late to report such crimes to the police, assuring victims that their cases will be fully investigated and that they will receive support from law enforcement officers and partner agencies.
