A 30-year-old man linked to the Manchester synagogue terror attack was rearrested today at Manchester Airport. He was initially detained after the deadly assault but taken back into custody amid fresh suspicion.
Rearrest Follows Terror Charges
The suspect was first arrested on October 2 for alleged involvement in the attack at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation in Crumpsall, North Manchester. Today, police swooped again, this time for failing to disclose information under Section 38B of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Held under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE), he has since been bailed—though with strict conditions imposed.
Police Calm Fears, Stress No Current Threat
Greater Manchester Police reassured the public: “We do not believe there is any ongoing threat following last week’s incident.”
But they confirmed the investigation into the terrifying attack is very much active.
Manchester Shaken by Deadly Synagogue Stabbing
Terrorist Jihad al-Shamie, 35, went on a deadly knife rampage at the Heaton Park synagogue during the holiest day of the Jewish calendar. Two worshippers, Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitzwas, 66, tragically died before armed police fatally shot the attacker.
Police initially arrested three people after the attack — two men in their 30s and a woman in her 60s — as the inquiry widened.
Investigation and Manhunt Continue
Authorities remain locked in a complex probe to uncover all details of the attack. The community is being kept informed as the terror inquiry unfolds.
