Man left fighting for his life after being crush by a tree in the New Forest

A man is fighting for life after being crushed by tree on golf course in Southampton. A multi agency response from the Fire Police and ambulance was scrambled after it is understood that man was crush by the tree. A Urban Search and Rescue adviser based at Eastliegh Fire station was also sent to the incident. The man has been freed and treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Southampton General hospital by land ambulance A spokeswoman for South central ambulance said:Rescue teams have been called to A New Forest golf course after a large tree fell on a man in his 40s. The operation involved the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), Hampshire Fire & Rescue Service, the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Critical Care Car and Air Ambulance. They all attended Dibden Golf Centre . The man has potentially life-threatening injuries. Excellent joint working between all the emergency services at the scene ensured he was recovered from underneath the tree, treated extensively at the scene before being transferred by road to the major trauma centre at University Hospital Southampton. There are particularly strong gusts of wind in the area so take care when travelling this afternoon and this evening.
