Man in Life-Threatening Condition After Disturbance in Borough Market Area

 

Police were called to a hotel on Tooley Street, SE1, at 12:40hrs on Saturday, 25 January, following reports of a man behaving erratically and threatening self-harm before fleeing the scene.

Upon arrival, officers discovered criminal damage to one of the hotel rooms. The suspect, a man in his 30s, was later spotted causing a disturbance around 15 minutes later in the vicinity of Borough Market and Borough High Street.

The man was detained by security staff after attempting to enter a local nightclub. Security personnel called both the police and paramedics to the scene. Responding officers and medical teams arrived promptly, providing assistance to the man. However, his condition quickly deteriorated, and he was rushed to the hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.

The man’s family has been informed of the situation, and investigations are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the events or who may have information regarding the disturbances to come forward.
