Man fighting for his life after car leaves the Road In the New forest

A man is fighting for his life following a crash on the A31 this lunchtime. Police closed the road for nearly three hours and the man was Airlifted by the Isle of Wight Air Ambulance to the Southampton General with changing injuries believed to be a serious brain and head injury. The 20-year-old man was treated at the scene before being flown to hospital. We sent two appliances from Lyndhurst and One from Redbridge. No one was trapped in the vehicle. Crews made the scene safe whilst Paramedics treated the man and the woman. Police reopened the road just after 3pm today
