A beloved local man has died after being seriously injured in a collision in Halifax.
Darrell ‘Bobby’ Hanson Succumbs to Injuries
Darrell ‘Bobby’ Hanson, 54, passed away on Saturday, 4 October, following a crash on Gibbet Street nearly two weeks earlier on 19 September.
He suffered critical injuries after being hit by a grey BMW 316.
Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute
Darrell’s family released a touching statement saying:
“Darrell was a much-loved son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.”
Police Probe Continues – Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
West Yorkshire Police confirmed a 68-year-old man is on bail after his arrest on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drugs.
The crash happened at about 10.22pm on Friday, 19 September, at the junction with Churn Street.
Officers appeal for anyone who witnessed the collision or has footage to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team on 101 or via live chat on the West Yorkshire Police website, quoting log reference 2131 of 19 September.
