Man charged with robbery after being stopped by have ago hero’s

Met Police say Ben Wegener, 34, of no fixed abode has been charged with robbery, dangerous driving, possession of an offensive weapon, criminal damage and receiving stolen goods.
This comes after an incident at a jewellers in west-London.
Police say a group of males used sledgehammers to smash into display cabinets and snatch jewellery items. The man was arrested after being detained by the public. Efforts remain ongoing to locate other suspects who fled the scene prior to police arrival
