Man charged with possession of gun in Gravesend

Officers have charged a 33-year-old man for being in possession of an air weapon. At around 10am on Wednesday 9 May 2018 officers received a report that a man had threatened a woman with a gun at a block of flats in Alfred Road, Gravesend. The woman was known to the man. Firearms officers attended and a man was arrested and officers found an air gun inside the man’s back garden. Stephen Stanford, 33, of Alfred Road, Gravesend, was charged with possessing an air weapon with intent to cause fear or violence. He has appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court and has been bailed to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on Thursday 7 June 2018.
