Man Charged with Grievous Bodily Harm Following Assault in Barking

A man has been charged with grievous bodily harm following a violent incident at a residential address in Barking earlier this year.

Metropolitan Police officers were called to a property on Harts Lane on May 27 after receiving reports of a disturbance inside the home. On arrival, officers found a man unconscious after allegedly being punched.

The victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. Police have since confirmed that his injuries, while serious, are not life-threatening or life-changing.

Following an investigation by the East Area Volume Crime Team, officers arrested Regan Mambo, 34, of Harts Lane, on July 23. He was charged the same day with grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Mambo has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court in August.

A spokesperson for the Met Police confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
