Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder Following Castle Baynard Street Assault

A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a serious assault on Castle Baynard Street early this morning. The City of London Police were called to the scene shortly after 5 am on 18 September, where they apprehended the suspect close to the location of the incident. The man is now in custody.

The London Ambulance Service attended the scene, and a victim, who sustained injuries believed to be consistent with a stabbing, was taken to hospital. The victim’s injuries are described as life-changing but not life-threatening.

Police have stated that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. A small section of the cycle highway on Castle Baynard Street remains closed, with diversions currently in place.
