MAJOR RESPONCE Knife Scare at Brighton Station Sparks Quick Police Action

Chaos was narrowly avoided at Brighton railway station on Tuesday evening (21 October) after a member of the public spotted a man carrying what looked like a large knife.

Security Moves Fast to Detain Suspect

Railway security staff jumped into action, detaining the man and alerting British Transport Police (BTP) immediately. Witnesses described the weapon as “machete-sized,” tucked into the suspect’s trousers with the handle clearly sticking out above his belt line.

Arrest Made as Tensions Ease

A BTP spokesperson confirmed:

“Officers were called to reports of a man with a knife at Brighton railway station just before 6.15pm on Tuesday (21 October). Officers attended and a 27-year-old man from Bexhill was arrested and taken to custody.”

Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The incident caused only minor delays to rail services as the situation was swiftly brought under control.
