Man, 51, Dies After Collision Between Peugeot and HGV Near Totton

A 51-year-old man from Christchurch has tragically died following a collision involving a Peugeot and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) on the A326 near Totton.

Police officers were called to the scene at 3.16am to respond to the crash at the junction with Monkton Lane. The incident involved a silver Peugeot 107 and a lorry.

The A326 was subsequently closed in both directions between Fletchwood Road and A35 Hunters Hill for approximately 12 hours. The road was reopened around 3.15pm.

The driver of the Peugeot, who has been identified as a 51-year-old man from Christchurch, was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed of the tragic news.

Appeal for Information

As part of the ongoing investigation, police are seeking any information from the public that could assist with their enquiries. They are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have seen the silver Peugeot, with a registration plate ending in JHZ, in the area during the early hours of the morning.

A police spokesperson said: “We are specifically asking residents in the Totton and New Milton areas to please check any Ring Doorbell, dash cam, or CCTV footage for any sightings of a vehicle matching this description.
