A major road in Harrow was closed in both directions this morning after a dramatic road traffic collision left a car overturned on its roof.

The crash occurred at around 7:25am on Kenton Road, at the junction with Sheepcote Road, causing significant disruption during rush hour and affecting multiple bus routes across the area.

Photos from the scene show the car lying upside down, with emergency services responding swiftly. Witnesses reported seeing three ambulances speeding through Harrow Town Centre and along Pinner Road en route to the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said:

“Officers were called to Kenton Road, Harrow at 07:25hrs on Friday, 14 March following reports of a road traffic collision. A man, the driver of the vehicle, received treatment at the scene for minor injuries and was later taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.”

The London Fire Brigade also attended the scene and extinguished a small fire caused by the crash.

The incident prompted full closure of Kenton Road in both directions, with major delays and disruption to several key bus routes including the 182, 186, 223, 483, H14, H18, H19, and SL10, which were all diverted as emergency crews worked at the scene.

The road has since been reopened, but residual delays were reported in surrounding areas as traffic gradually returned to normal.

Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the collision, and no other vehicles were reported to be involved.
