Major Fire at Birmingham Industrial Park

Firefighters from across the Midlands are battling a significant blaze at an industrial park near the Fort retail complex in Birmingham. The fire broke out in the roof space of a warehouse situated behind the B&M store at the popular retail park.

Earlier reports mistakenly indicated that the fire was within the retail park itself. It has since been confirmed that the blaze is confined to the industrial area adjacent to the retail complex.

The A47 from Bromford Road towards Spitfire Island has been closed due to the fire. Significant traffic delays are also affecting:

  • Bromford Lane, from Tyburn Road to Coleshill Road.
  • Tyburn Road, from Gravelly Interchange to Kingsbury Road.
  • Kingsbury Road, from Tyburn Road to Spitfire Island.
  • M6, both ways between Junctions 5 and 6, due to onlookers.

Emergency services are on the scene, working tirelessly to control the fire and ensure the safety of nearby properties and individuals. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations will commence once the blaze is under control.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.

This is a developing story. More updates will follow as information becomes available.
