National Highways has confirmed a major closure of the A3 in both directions at Wisley, Surrey, this weekend, as part of ongoing bridge and junction improvement works at the M25 Junction 10 interchange.
The closure will be in place from 9pm on Friday, 11 April, until 6am on Monday, 14 April, and is expected to cause significant disruption to drivers travelling in the area.
Key Details:
- Closed section: A3 between the M25 Junction 10 interchange and the Painshill Roundabout (A245)
- Closure duration: 57 hours (from Friday evening to early Monday morning)
- Reason: Part of long-term upgrades to improve safety and traffic flow at one of the UK’s busiest motorway junctions
What You Need to Know
While the A3 will be fully closed between the specified points, drivers will still be able to access the northbound A3 at Painshill from Byfleet Road during the closure period.
National Highways has advised motorists to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and follow signed diversion routes, which are available via their official website.
The closure is part of the M25 Junction 10 improvement project, which aims to reduce congestion and improve safety where the M25 meets the A3—a notorious traffic hotspot for Surrey commuters and long-distance travellers.
