Traffic Stop Leads to Big Drug Bust
Klevis Arifi, 21, was nabbed during a traffic stop on Boxley Road on 15 March 2025. Officers discovered eight bags of cocaine in his car. Arifi revealed he lived on Union Street, Maidstone, where police quickly found 28-year-old Asllan Cani.
Both men were arrested at the flat. A search uncovered £1,050 in cash, multiple Dealdeal bags of cocaine, and two vacuum-sealed blocks weighing a combined 204 grams.
Cocaine Worth Tens of Thousands Confiscated
Experts valued the pure cocaine at £10,000. Once processed and cut, the haul could fetch between £20,000 and £25,000 on the streets.
County Lines Operation Exposed
Text messages found on seized phones revealed both men were involved in local drug dealing – not just on the streets but also higher up in a County Lines network supplying Maidstone.
Both Arifi and Cani pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine and possession of criminal property. Arifi also admitted to driving without insurance.
Sentenced to Time Behind Bars
On 19 September 2025, Maidstone Crown Court sentenced each man to two and a half years in prison.
“This is a great result as it takes a large quantity of class A drugs off the streets and puts key suppliers to Maidstone behind bars,” said investigating officer PC Brandon Mills.
“The initial stop was only possible thanks to extensive police work. The team’s efforts have paid off.”
