M25 Shut in Both Directions Near Clacket Lane Services Following Major Incident

Emergency services have closed both carriageways of the M25 this evening following a serious concern for safety incident near Clacket Lane Services.

Surrey Police confirmed that officers were called to the motorway between junctions 5 and 6 at around 6pm on Saturday, 26 July. In response, full road closures were implemented in both directions.

The Kent, Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance has landed at the scene, suggesting a significant emergency response is underway.


Traffic at a Standstill

Motorists have been urged to avoid the area as traffic remains at a complete standstill in both directions. Highways crews and police are currently managing traffic diversions.

A spokesperson for the force said:

“Officers are on scene following a report of a concern for safety. Road closures have been put in place and currently both carriageways between junctions 5 and 6 near to Clacket Lane Services are shut.
We are advising road users to avoid this section of the road where possible. We will provide an update as soon as we can.”


Public Advised to Delay Travel

Drivers are being advised to check travel updates and consider alternative routes. It remains unclear how long the M25 will remain closed.
