The M1 in Bedfordshire is currently closed northbound between Junction 12 (Toddington) and Junction 13 (Brogborough) due to a serious road traffic collision. Emergency services, including Bedfordshire Police, are on the scene, and National Highways Traffic Officers are assisting with traffic management.
Diversion Route:
Drivers are advised to follow the Hollow Diamond diversion symbol on road signs. The diversion route is as follows:
- Exit the M1 at Junction 12 and proceed northeast on the A5120 towards Westoning.
- Continue on the A5120 through Westoning to the A5120/Steppingley Road roundabout.
- At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Steppingley Road and continue past Flitwick Railway Station, merging onto Fordfield Road.
- Follow Fordfield Road to the A507/Fordfield Road crossroads and keep right onto the A507 Ridgemont by-pass.
- Proceed straight over the Station Road and Salford Road roundabouts, merging onto the A421 Bedford Road.
- Re-join the M1 at Junction 13.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes or delaying their journeys.
