A serious high-speed collision on the A2 between Bean interchange and Northfleet has resulted in the road being closed after one woman sustained life-changing injuries.
The crash, involving two vehicles, occurred when one of the vehicles reportedly burst into flames, transforming into a fireball upon impact. Kent Police’s Roads Policing Unit, alongside specialists from the Forensic Collision Investigation Unit, have been dispatched to the scene to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
The female victim of the collision has been urgently treated at the scene before being transported to a hospital with injuries described as life-changing.
The second vehicle involved in the crash was reportedly abandoned by its driver, who fled the scene immediately after the incident.
Police have launched a manhunt for the culprit, urging anyone with information to come forward.
As a result of the collision and the ongoing forensic investigation, significant closures and disruptions have been reported on the A2.
Officials anticipate the road will remain closed for several hours, causing considerable traffic delays.
