Manhunt for Escaped Doncaster Prisoner Liam Slater, 33, Last Seen on Train to Leeds

Police have launched an urgent manhunt after a prisoner escaped from HMP Hatfield in Doncaster. Liam Slater, 33, was last seen at Stainforth Station, boarding a train to Leeds at approximately 8.46pm on Sunday, June 8.

South Yorkshire Police have warned members of the public not to approach Slater under any circumstances and to dial 999 immediately if he is spotted.

Prison Escape and Public Warning

Slater’s disappearance from the open prison has prompted a multi-agency search. Authorities say he has known links to Wetherby and Seacroft, both areas in Leeds. Officers are continuing inquiries and reviewing transport footage as part of the urgent investigation.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said:

“If you see Liam Slater, do not approach him. Call 999 quoting incident number 818 of 18 May 2025. For non-emergency tips, please call 101 or use our online reporting tool.”

Community Urged to Stay Alert

Local communities across Doncaster, Leeds, and West Yorkshire have been urged to stay alert and report any sightings or encounters. The police believe Slater may attempt to stay off-grid and are calling on anyone who may have spoken to or seen him recently to come forward.
