Firefighters are currently on scene battling a blaze believed to have broken out at an electrical substation on Curness Street, just off Lewisham High Street.
The fire was first reported shortly before midday (Saturday 26 July), prompting a swift emergency response from the London Fire Brigade (LFB). Multiple fire engines and crews have been deployed to the scene.
Smoke is reportedly visible from surrounding streets, and cordons have been put in place by emergency services as a precaution due to the nature of the fire. The blaze is believed to involve power infrastructure, heightening concerns about electrical risk and disruption in the area.

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson at the scene confirmed:
Crews are responding to a fire at a commercial premises off Lewisham High Street. We urge members of the public to avoid the area while operations continue.”
Residents and local businesses have been advised to keep windows closed and avoid the vicinity of Lewisham High Street and Curness Street due to smoke and emergency operations.
Transport delays may be expected, with buses reportedly being diverted away from Lewisham High Street while firefighting efforts are underway.
