The woman, hailing from Witham, Essex, was apprehended on Friday under suspicion of neglect, with authorities citing potential unnecessary injury caused. She has since been released on police bail until July 26 pending further investigation.

Detective Constable Zoe Eele, leading the inquiry from Thames Valley Police’s Child Abuse Investigation Unit, expressed the force’s sympathy, stating, “Our thoughts are with the family of the boy who is in a critical condition in hospital after suffering a cardiac arrest. We are supporting them as best we can at this extremely difficult time.”

Authorities have urged individuals who were present at the Legoland Windsor Resort, particularly those queuing for the Coastguard HQ boat ride between approximately 11:30 am and 12:45 pm, to come forward with any pertinent information. They can reach out to the police via phone, website, or through the independent charity Crimestoppers, either anonymously or otherwise, quoting reference number 43240202786.

Police have clarified that they are not seeking additional suspects in connection with the incident.

Coastguard HQ, the site of the occurrence, is a prominent attraction at Legoland Windsor Resort. While the ride does not have a height restriction, riders below 1.3 meters (4 feet 3 inches) must be accompanied by an adult or a responsible person at least 16 years old. Legoland advises guests to operate the foot pedals and steer the boat during the ride, cautioning that drivers may get wet.

As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on the welfare of the infant and gathering pertinent details surrounding the incident at the popular resort.
