In a tragic incident that has left a community in shock, 46-year-old Robert Jean is set to appear in Leeds Magistrates Court charged with the murders of Abdullah Mirzada, aged 53, and Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed, aged 65.

The grim discovery unfolded when police responded to a call on Saturday, September 30, at Back Hill Top Avenue, Harehills, shortly after 11 am. Abdullah Mirzada was pronounced dead at the scene, while Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed succumbed to his injuries in the hospital a short time later.

All three men, including the accused, lived at the same address in Hill Top Mount, Harehills. West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are actively investigating the incident, and family liaison officers are providing support to the victims’ families during this difficult time.

Another individual, a 47-year-old man, who was initially arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident, has been released without charge and will face no further action.

As forensic work continues at the Hill Top Mount address, a scene remains in place. The investigation aims to uncover the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths of Mr. Mirzada and Mr. Mohammed.

In a heartfelt statement, the family of Abdullah Mirzada remembered him as a hardworking and gentle man who had been in the UK since 2002. Describing him as someone who never engaged in disputes and always chose to walk away from disagreements, they expressed their disbelief and grief over the tragic loss.

The family of Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed, in their statement, portrayed him as a man of good character who found solace in prayer and mosque visits. Puzzled by the senseless act, they emphasised that their father never got into trouble, leaving them unsettled and struggling to comprehend the tragedy.
