Lake Road in Portsmouth has been temporarily closed to traffic as engineers carry out essential emergency repair work. The affected section spans between the junctions of Church Street and Clarendon Street.

The repairs are being undertaken to ensure public safety, with the work expected to be completed by the weekend, barring any unforeseen delays. In the meantime, signed diversion routes have been established for motorists, directing traffic via Holbrook Road, Arundel Street, and Fratton Road.

SGN, the company responsible for the repairs, has apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked local residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation during this disruption.

Further updates will be provided if the schedule changes or additional delays are expected.
