Kitchen Fire in Sittingbourne Quickly Extinguished

Fire crews were called to a kitchen fire on Crown Quay Lane, Sittingbourne, late on Saturday, January 18, 2025.

Emergency Response

Kent Fire and Rescue Service received the call at 11:37 pm, dispatching two fire engines to the scene. Firefighters, wearing breathing apparatus, used high-pressure hose reel jets to extinguish flames originating from the hob and surrounding areas. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to clear smoke from the property.

The fire was under control and fully extinguished by 12:35 am on Sunday.

No Injuries Reported

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Fire officials are reminding the public to practice kitchen safety by keeping cooking areas clean and free of flammable items. Never leave cooking unattended, and always switch off appliances if you need to leave the room.
