Kitchen Fire at Commercial Premises in Ramsgate Prompts Emergency Response
Chemical Leak Scare Leads to Evacuation of 450 People from Mitcham School

A kitchen fire at a commercial premises in Hereson Road, Ramsgate, has triggered an immediate response from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 11:10 AM, required the deployment of four fire engines to manage the situation.

Firefighters donned breathing apparatus and employed high-pressure hose reel jets and main jets to effectively combat and extinguish the blaze. Following their intensive efforts, the incident has been downsized to two fire engines, with crews remaining on-site to conduct damping down operations.

Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries stemming from the incident, and the precise cause of the fire remains under investigation.

To facilitate emergency services’ efforts at the scene, road closures have been implemented in the vicinity. As a result, local residents and individuals in the area are strongly advised to avoid the affected zone. It is essential to share this advice with anyone who may not have internet access and could be impacted by the road closures.
