Isle of Wight Man alleged to have dazzled Police helicopter pilot set to stand trial

A Bembridge man has appeared before the Island magistrates to answer charges of shining a light at a helicopter. Nicholas Hawkins of Heathfield Road, Bembridge made a brief appearance on Friday to answer the charge after it’s alleged that he dazzled the Pilot of the NPAS helicopter that was carrying out a search back in March earlier in the year. Hawkins has pleaded not guilty to the charge and a trial will take place on 15th August 2019.
