Isle of Wight Drinking Driver Charged following Crash Near Shanklin

An Isle of Wight Woman faces losing her license after she crashed her White Mercedes in Shanklin on Tuesday evening. The unnamed 28 year old was arrested following the single vehicle crash near Shanklin on the Isle of Wight. Response officers from the Isle of Wight carried out a roadside breath test. The woman blew nearly three time the legal drink drink limit. The woman was taken to Newport Police station and blew a whopping 86. Claiming she had only had one for the road. Police have charged the woman. She will appear before Isle of Wight Magistrates court later this month. Officers involved in the investigation said that no one was injured in the collision fortunately. More but luck than anything. This incident sends out a clear message that drinking and driving do not mix so don’t risk it.
