Incident Details

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was alerted earlier today after a resident reported hearing a loud noise. A structural engineer was called to assess the damage, leading to the decision to evacuate as a precautionary measure.

The affected building houses 70 flats, and residents without alternative accommodation have been advised to move to a local rest centre set up by Camden Council.

Council Statement

A spokesman for Camden Council stated:
“We were alerted earlier today to a structural issue at The Combe block where part of a wall developed a crack on the ninth floor. As a result, the London Fire Brigade took the decision to evacuate.

Council officers are working alongside emergency services to assess the building’s safety.

Support for Residents

Residents who have been displaced are being supported by council teams at the rest centre, and alternative arrangements are being explored for those who require longer-term accommodation.

Ongoing Investigation

Engineers and safety teams continue to assess the situation to determine the extent of the damage and any necessary repairs. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Residents with concerns are advised to monitor Camden Council’s updates and follow guidance from emergency services.
