Cyclist Seriously Injured in Hove Collision as Police Launch Operation Snowbeach

A 36-year-old cyclist has been seriously injured following a late-night crash in Hove, prompting a police investigation and urgent appeal for witnesses.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Church Road and Grand Avenue at approximately 11.35pm on Sunday, 8 June, after reports of a collision between a blue Kia Sportage and a black Saracen bicycle.


Man Hospitalised with Serious Injuries

The cyclist, a local man from Brighton, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He remains in medical care. The driver of the Kia, a 47-year-old man from Newhaven, was not injured, according to Sussex Police.


Operation Snowbeach: Police Investigating

Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the crash, codenamed Operation Snowbeach. Officers are urging witnesses, drivers with dashcam footage, and local businesses or residents with CCTV to come forward.

A police spokesperson said:

“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen the collision or the moments leading up to it to assist with our enquiries. Any dashcam or CCTV footage could be vital.”
