Fight Breaks Out at Highbury & Islington Station as Child Caught in Chaos

A violent altercation broke out at Highbury & Islington Underground Station earlier today, with British Transport Police called to the scene after a child was caught in the middle of a physical fight between three adult men.

The incident, which occurred on one of the station platforms, was witnessed by commuters during a busy period. A video has not yet emerged, but eyewitness accounts paint a chaotic picture.

One commuter told UKNIP

“The black man and one of the white men got into an argument and started pushing each other. The black man then punched the white man — while he was holding a child.

The child fell, and then both white men, who looked like they were in formal suits, started attacking the black man and stomping on him.

Then the black man kicked one of them and ran off.”

The current condition of the child and those involved is not yet confirmed.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were reportedly called to the scene shortly after the fight began. It’s unclear whether any arrests have been made, and no official statement has yet been released.

A spokesperson for The Sentinel Current said:

“We have reached out to British Transport Police for comment on the incident and are awaiting a response.”

The station remained open, though it is believed some areas were temporarily restricted while officers assessed the situation.
