Heroic Joint Rescue Operation in Hastings Country Park
Heroic Joint Rescue Operation in Hastings Country Park

In a display of coordinated emergency response, Hastings Coastguard rescue team, alongside colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service successfully conducted a challenging rescue operation in Hastings Country Park. The operation was initiated following an incident where an individual suffered a severe leg fracture after a fall in the park.

The complexity of the terrain, characterized by icy and muddy fields, made the rescue particularly demanding. Given the casualty’s remote location from the nearest ambulance, additional support was called in. Flank stations from HM Coastguard Bexhill and HM Coastguard Rye Bay joined the effort, bringing crucial expertise and additional resources to the scene.

Utilising their 4×4 vehicles, the rescue teams were able to navigate the challenging landscape. This allowed for the transportation of extra ambulance crews, team members, and essential medical equipment directly to the injured individual. Following a careful and strategic approach, the casualty was eventually carried by stretcher across the difficult terrain to the waiting ambulance.
