A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the fatal stabbing of a teenager in Hayes. The tragic incident occurred on Friday, May 24, at around 1:30 PM on Bourne Avenue.

The victim, a 16-year-old boy, has been identified by police as Kamari Johnson, who was a local resident. Despite the efforts of officers, the London Ambulance Service, and an air ambulance, Kamari was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kamari’s family has been informed and is receiving support from specially trained officers. The shocking incident has understandably caused significant concern within the local community.

On Saturday night, May 25, a 17-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command stated, “Kamari’s murder has understandably caused shock and concern amongst the local community. A team of experienced detectives is working tirelessly to establish what happened to Kamari and why he was attacked. This evening’s arrest demonstrates the progress we are making, thanks in no small part to the assistance we’ve had from the community.

Gammampila urged residents to avoid speculating about the incident and encouraged anyone with information to come forward. I’m particularly keen to hear from any residents who may have captured footage on the doorbell or dashcam devices – please check your cameras to see if there is anything relevant on them and, if so, get in contact.

Anyone with footage or images that could aid the investigation is asked to upload them to the Operation Brownlow online portal. Witnesses or anyone with information can also call 101 or tweet @MetCC, referencing CAD 3832/24MAY24.
