Hanwell Flat Blaze Following Suspected E-Bike Explosion
A major fire has ripped through a flat with a block on Jasper Avenue in Hanwell following what is believed to be a suspected e-bike battery explosion.
The London Fire Brigade was called to the scene just after 6pm on Saturday evening 19th July 2025.
A number of fire engines and along with an aerial ladder have been deployed to tackle the blaze. A person rescue operation is currently underway say those living in the block.

Residents Raise Longstanding Concerns
Early reports from neighbours claim the fire may have been sparked by an electric bike battery explosion, with several residents stating they had raised concerns repeatedly with Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) housing association about illegal subletting and overcrowding in the block.
“They’ve done nothing about it,” said one resident, who asked not to be named. “There are young children and pregnant women in this block, and this could have been prevented.”

There are unconfirmed reports of injuries. London Ambulance Service and police units are assisting on site.
Area Cordoned Off
The area surrounding Jasper Avenue has been cordoned off, and residents are advised to avoid the scene.

The causing of the blaze is now being probed by the London Fire Brigade.
