MURDER PROBE Girl Found Dead in Quiet Cotswold Village – Murder Probe Underway

A tragic mystery has gripped the peaceful village of Islip, north Oxfordshire, where a young girl was found dead at her home on Tuesday. Neighbours revealed she lived with her mother and sibling in what’s known as a “close-knit” community.

Murder Investigation Launched

Police were called to a property on Middle Street, Islip, where they discovered the girl’s body. Thames Valley Police have launched a homicide investigation, but have yet to release her age. A heavy police presence remains at the scene, complete with a forensic tent and cordon.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Sally Spencer said: “Firstly, I would like to share our condolences with the family of the girl who very sadly has died today. We are still in the early stages and will provide more details as soon as we can.”

Community in Shock

Locals described the family as “busy” but relatively new to the village, having rented their home for less than a year.

“It’s terribly sad – I can’t imagine what on earth must have happened. They were a busy young family always working,” said one villager who’s lived in Islip for 25 years.

Neighbours and local councillors expressed deep shock at the tragedy in a village famed for its peacefulness and history as the birthplace of King Edward the Confessor.

Police Appeal for Information

Police have asked anyone with information or footage from Middle Street on the day of the incident to come forward, quoting reference number 43250537456.

Detective Chief Inspector Spencer assured: “We believe this incident to be contained and are not aware of any threat to the wider public at this time.”

Support and Solidarity

The local St Nicholas Church offered condolences, leaving a message to the community: “Our prayers are with all those involved or affected by the tragedy in Middle Street. The church is open all day for anyone who wishes to reflect, seek solace, or pray.”

As the investigation continues, the village remains united in grief and hope for answers to this heartbreaking case.
