Man Arrested After Stabbing Outside Shop in Gedling — Victim Remains in Hospital

Police have arrested a 45-year-old man after a stabbing outside a shop in Westdale Lane, Gedling, which left a victim in his thirties seriously injured.

The suspect was detained at 2.39 pm on Wednesday, 7th May 2025,  in the Bakersfield area of Nottingham following an urgent manhunt launched after the attack last night.

The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries as detectives continue their investigation into the incident.

Superintendent James Woolley of Nottinghamshire Police said:

This was a shocking incident and our thoughts this afternoon remain with the victim and his family.
Multiple officers have worked tirelessly to bring this man into custody and I am grateful for their efforts.
Our investigation into what happened will now continue but we are not looking for any other suspects.”

A police cordon remains in place as officers carry out further enquiries at the scene.
