Further Charge in Joshua McLean Murder Investigation

A fourth individual has been charged in connection with the murder of Joshua McLean in Tower Hamlets.

Muhammad Abbas, 22, of Bradford Road, Kirklees, appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 7 October. Abbas was arrested by officers on Saturday, 5 October.

Joshua McLean, 31, was fatally shot on Tuesday, 6 August, in Weavers Fields, Wilmot Street, E2. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command.

Three other men were previously charged with McLean’s murder on Thursday, 26 September. They are:

  • Nefur Miah, 36, of Redmans Road, E1.
  • Muhammed Ismail Ali, 37, of Marlborough Road, RM7.
  • Simeon Oliver-Stewart, 30, of Clevedon Close, N16.

All three have appeared in court.
