Flat Fire in Maidstone Extinguished by Kent Fire and Rescue Service

Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to a flat fire on Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, on Wednesday, 23 October 2024. The emergency call came in at 8:16 pm, and crews worked quickly to bring the blaze under control.

Five fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, used high-pressure hose reel jets to tackle the flames. The fire was extinguished by 10:48 pm, and there were no reported injuries.

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental, with investigators linking it to smoking materials. Authorities are reminding residents to take extra care when using or disposing of such items to prevent similar incidents.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service praised the swift response of the crews, emphasizing the importance of quick action in keeping residents safe and minimizing damage.
