Five Police Officers Were Assaulted Last Night After Responding To A Report Of An Altercation On High Newham Court In Stockton

Officers responded to a report of an altercation around 7.55 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27th.
Three Special Constables and two police officers from response policing were assaulted during the incident.
Three officers were punched in the face and mouth, one was kicked, and another was punched in the back.
Both a 30-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of affray and assault by beating on an emergency worker.
Both are currently in police custody.
“It’s unacceptable that any of our officers are assaulted, especially in the line of duty,” said Chief Inspector Andy Liddell. We will not tolerate such behaviour, and anyone who believes it is acceptable to commit such acts can fully expect to be arrested and dealt with appropriately.”
