Five people charged with drugs and money laundering in Kent

Five people have now been charged as part of a drugs and money laundering investigation run by officers from the National Crime Agency and Metropolitan Police Service.

It follows an operation on Tuesday evening (14 April) which saw investigators from the Organised Crime Partnership (OCP), a joint NCA and Met Police team, seize cocaine worth around £2 million and £300,000 cash in Gravesend, Kent.

Four of those arrested in Gravesend have now been charged. They are:

  • Philip Spence, aged 50, of Rochester Road, Gravesend, charged with possessing criminal property;
  • Nicola Stevens, aged 50, of Rochester Road, Gravesend, charged with conspiring to launder the proceeds of crime;
  • David Adeniji, aged 29, of Bromhall Road, Dagenham, charged with conspiring to supply class A drugs and conspiring to launder the proceeds of crime;
  • Kyle Hills, aged 31, of St Albans Close, Gillingham, charged with conspiring to supply class A drugs

All four appeared before Barkingside Magistrates on 16 April. Stevens, Adeniji and Hills were remanded in custody until their next appearance at Woolwich Crown Court on 14 May. Spence was bailed to appear at the same court on the same day.

Following appeals for him to come forward a fifth individual, Luke Coribel, 30, of Gatwick Road, Gravesend, handed himself into police on Thursday 16 April, where he was charged with possessing class A drugs with intent to supply, and conspiring to supply class A drugs.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates today (17 April) and was remanded in custody until his next court hearing, also at Woolwich on 14 May.
