A fishing boat carrying a significant haul of cocaine was intercepted off the Ramsgate coast this morning, resulting in the seizure of approximately 400 kilos of the drug and the arrest of four men in a major anti-drug operation.
The National Crime Agency (NCA), in coordination with Border Force and armed officers, conducted the operation, apprehending three men aboard the vessel. The suspects, aged 64, 45, and 25, were arrested on suspicion of drug importation. In a related move, a fourth man, aged 36, was arrested in Rainham, London.
The coordinated operation underscores ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to tackle drug trafficking along the UK’s coastlines. The NCA confirmed that the men are now in custody as investigations continue.

A spokesperson for the NCA commented, “This seizure highlights the effectiveness of our partnerships with Border Force and other agencies in disrupting the illegal drug trade and protecting our communities from the harm these substances can bring.”

The seized cocaine, which has an estimated street value in the millions, was removed from the fishing boat as evidence, and the investigation is expected to involve further examination of how the drug consignment entered UK waters.
This operation is part of a broader crackdown on drug smuggling along the UK’s shores, with authorities remaining vigilant to prevent further attempts at illegal importation.
