I saw the fight on Church Street,” said a witness who asked to remain anonymous. After being stabbed, I saw the boy fall to the floor. I’m not sure if they were in a fight beforehand.
“After I heard him scream and someone said ‘he’s been stabbed, he’s been stabbed’. Then, near the pub, one or two of the boys emerged with an orange shovel and a large stick, shouting.
“It appears that the fight was also on the side street. Friends of the stabbed boy came out from the street to check on him.
“[It made me] quite sad. I hope the people who have been injured are both okay.
“It made me sad that they had to stab each other. I was just talking casually when I saw the young man get stabbed.
“His screams got to me because, as a mother, I would hate for it to be my child.”
