This morning, firefighters were called to a partial roof collapse at a flat on Longford Walk in Tulse Hill.

The aluminium roof of a three-story apartment building had peeled off in high winds, putting the building in jeopardy. To work at height and make the scene safe, firefighters used one of the Brigade’s 32-metre ladders.

As a precaution, a cordon was erected. There were no reported injuries.

The Fire Department was called at 9.51 a.m., and the incident was over by 11.23 a.m. West Norwood, Croydon, and Clapham fire stations sent one engine, a fire rescue unit, and a 32-metre turntable ladder to the scene.
