The fire damaged the roof terrace of a six-story building. There were no reported injuries.

Firefighters worked hard to tackle the fire and contain it to the roof terrace,” said Station Commander Stephen-Remell Coleman, who was on the scene.

“Crews cooled a single 5kg propane cylinder involved in the fire because some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.”

“The fire generated a lot of smoke, which prompted several calls to our Control Room.”

“Some local road closures were in effect while firefighters dealt with the fire.”

The Brigade’s 999 Control Officers responded to seven calls about the fire.

The LFB was called at 1058am, and the fire was out by 1.31pm. At the scene were five fire engines and approximately 35 firefighters from Kensington, Hammersmith, Soho, North Kensington, and Battersea fire stations.

The fire’s origin is being investigated.
