Fire crews tackle Straw fire near Maidstone

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of straw alight in Mote Park in Maidstone. Two fire engines and a bulk water carrier were sent to the scene and crews used hose reel jets and main jets to extinguish the fire, which had spread to approximately 50 tonnes of straw and wood chippings. No casualties were reported the cause is not yet known.
